Week 31 of 2026: World Pride

On Saturday it was the Canal Parade in the context of World Pride. I ended up celebrating it with friends at a woonboot on Prinsengracht, and after a year in which a broke my foot, followed by a year I volunteered to help dismantle the boat I was on, this was my most relaxed yet amazing pride in years. I loved it.

Played

On Tuesday I played Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast for the second time at Queer RPG Night (but my third time). We played only one chapter (Lights Out) and I really loved how the “Eerie Mood” mechanic drove the story. I did some preparation to hopefully make picking a chapter faster next week, so that we might be able to get two chapters per evening, but this was a lovely one.

On Wednesday I ran my second week of Pirate Borg (also the third if you count the first one where I was a player). After last week’s total breakdown I decided to be upfront and guide my (yet again!) fully Dutch table towards an English game. Halfway through I got the feeling I didn’t really need it this time. We’ll see how that goes. It was a nice exploration of a lighthouse and I was pleased with the parts of it that I improvised (and in general just the good design of Pirate Borg).

And on... no! I played only two RPGs this week. Help!

Ran

We’re really in business! On Monday I ran 11km easy, on Wednesday I arrived extra early at the office to run 20km through Westerpark and around Sloterplas and back, on Friday I did 7.8km easy and there were 9.5km of intervals on Saturday, giving me a total of 48.3km in the week and hey, next week will be more.
